2010 YMCA Strong Kids Campaign

The Family YMCA is not supported by tax dollars. It is supported by people.
Commitment from donors, volunteers, members and staff, provides more than 70 YMCA program opportunities for deserving youth and families. YMCA programs nurture growth in spirit, mind and body, for all kids and families -- no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
One critical YMCA emphasis objective is to expand mission driven programs for the teen population in Los Alamos and Española. Another critical emphasis is to provide financial aid for parents who need child care in order to work or go to school, but currently do not have the economic means.
Within the YMCA’s $1.9 million 2010 budget, we are dependent on a goal of $100,000 of
annual support to ensure that our programs can serve the needs of our
community. We are a charitable organization
(501(c)3), annually providing $40-$65K per year of assistance to youth and
families through scholarships for healthy, supervised, value-based programs and
membership. No one is turned away due to inability to pay. Here is a summary of
2009’s revenue.
