Taos After-School 2023-2024 (Entering Grades K-6th)
Taos After-School reinforces learning all school year with fun, interactive group and individual projects and opportunities for reading! Taos After-School includes lots of time for group games, sports and free play, too. As usual, we will offer a healthy afternoon snack, and encourage you to pack for your child the following items: water bottle, change of clothes, snack (if you would prefer your child eat their own snack), sunscreen & hat.

Wednesday 1-6pm
Friday 3-6pm (1-6pm on Taos Municipal Schools early release Fridays)
Early Release Fridays are 9/1, 9/15, 10/6, 10/20, 12/8, 1/26, 2/16, 3/8, 4/12, 4/26 & 5/10

We understand that after school transportation is tricky for parents, and are working on a solution for this, but, at this time only the following schools have a scheduled bus stop at the Taos Youth & Family Center for your campers:

Completing the pre-registration form (linked below) will hold a spot in line for your child, but availability will be based on how many spaces open up. As soon as we know that there is are spaces available, we will be contacting families in the order that they submitted the preregistration.

Taos Summer Camp (Entering Grades K-6th)
Taos Summer Camp reinforces learning all summer long with fun, interactive group and individual projects, opportunities for reading, community based workshops including music and movement! Taos Summer Camp includes lots of time for group games, sports and free play, too. Camp includes two healthy snacks per day. Cost varies on number of days enrolled.

FAQs
What will my child be doing while at Taos Summer Camp?
Playing both inside and outside, interactive group and individual projects, opportunities for reading, community based workshops including music and movement! They also have time for lunch (provided by you) and snacks (provided by the Y). Some days will feature fun field trips. We will have info and permission slips provided as needed.
What should I pack for my child? What should campers wear?
Pack:
- sunscreen
- hat
- water bottle
- extra snacks if 2/day is too few
- a comfort item - stuffie, blankie, etc. are encouraged if helpful to your child
PLEASE WRITE YOUR CHILD's NAME on all their items.
Wear:
- closed toe/comfy shoes for climbing, hiking, etc.
- clothes that can get messy (we try to use all washable paints, etc. but keep in mind, we love mud, play dough, and exploring the outdoors!)
DO NOT wear:
- high heeled shoes
- expensive or irreplaceable jewelry
- shorts that reveal your child's booty
- any clothing depicting violence, guns, dead animals, alcohol, tobacco products, scary content, or messages that do not reflect Y values. Remember, we serve young kids and want clothing choices to reflect a welcoming environment for all.
***No personal technology except phones or smart watches. Phones should be kept in backpacks and only used to communicate with parents/guardians. Gaming tech, tablets, etc. should be left at home.***
