Tuesdays and Thursdays, year-round, 2:30 - 5 pm.
Arts and Resiliency is a program facilitated by Ericka Becker, BFA, MA in art therapy, LMHC. While in the art studio you have the opportunity to explore identity and sense of self. Through these explorations you can build stronger resiliency, self-efficacy, and support systems.
Supplies are provided free to Teen Center members, including canvases, brushes, paint, and a slew of other art tools.
No experience necessary.
We encourage self-expression through creative exploration. You can draw, paint, sculpt, or create whatever you want!
"When you use art as a coping skill you're able to process things in ways that you would have never imagined were possible for yourself."
"Sharing feeds into the creativity processes and creative processes feed into sharing,"
"It's not about being talented at art or being better at something than someone else. It's about giving yourself the space and opportunity to process."
