This year’s YMCA Youth Basketball program has been redesigned to meet COVID-safety requirements.
These safety measures are detailed in The Return to Play Operating Protocol for YMCA Youth Basketball.
General points about the program this year:
Teams will consist of no more than 5 individuals.
This program will consist only of practices, focusing on the fundamentals of basketball, such as ball control, dribbling, and passing skills. Practices may have within-team scrimmages where the players are encouraged to work on skills in a small-game setting only consisting of players in their own team.
All program participants are required to wear an appropriate face covering that covers the nose and the mouth at all times at the practice location.
The YMCA will monitor public health orders and adapt the program to any changes in restrictions and guidelines.
The Family YMCA is excited about the prospect of bringing youth sports back to our kids and committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all our community. Registration for the 2020-2021 Youth Basketball season opens on October 9th 2020.
